I use my table often.  Sometimes I bring it outside and sometimes I leave it inside.  If it is raining or when it is cold out I will sit and eat inside.  I always like to have at least one table inside.  I am lucky and have 2 tables.  My grand plan is to get a fitting that the pedestal table goes into and put that where the traditional table goes.  This way I have a "cocktail" table in front of the big benches and it is easier to sit down but still have a place to put a drink.

Ours mounts on a rail on the bed end with a single leg as a stanchion.  It would be horribly useless outside.
