DW was looking for a campground in that a friend had recommended and she accidently came across a campground for nudists. Didn't know that they even existed. I've come to find out, there are others around. I do believe in live and let live, but caught me a little off guard. What are your thoughts about nudist campgrounds?
I'm guessing nudist campgrounds are like nude beaches. The people you want to see naked are NOT there, the people that you do NOT want to see naked are there.
Many down here in Sunny Florida, most cater to families with pools, recreational areas and more. We do have beach areas that are "clothing optional" even if not designated as such. Now here's something you may not know...ALL National Seashores have, and they're usually marked like here at Cape Canaveral, clothing optional areas. There is no FEDERAL law prohibiting nudism on federal lands.
If you want more info Google "Naturists" sites and you'll find out more than you ever wanted to know. And down here you often see, as I understand, the "Terry Bradshaw" type. For those of you who didn't see the movie "Failure to Launch" you should skip this one scene. Oh and Kathy Bates does a similar shot in a different movie...more power to us Baby Boomers, I guess.
Funny story short - 'bout 20 years ago I was the new CubMaster sent to get badges from the camp store - given directions by the Pack Chairman. Gathered my kids for an hour trip - was not told of the campground across the road with the same name as the BSA campground. I thought cool, 12ft. security fencing, voice box monitoring at the gate (allowed entry when I told them what I needed), pool, stables, cabins, RVs. Never been to a BSA campground like this before. Got to the office and wasn't prepared at all for what came around the corner.
They still tease me about it.
