So, I'm not sure if any of these are helpful, but it looks to my uneducated eye, that the quarantines are still in effect. It is a drag, I agree, but if it protects our forrests, we've gotta do it. It takes too long to grow new forrests, we MUST protect what we've got.
I can't comment on the first item since I can't get to it. Please repost it. I would like to read it.
The second and third item are dated 2010, before the document I found, which is dated February 2011 for effect April 2011. Back in 2010 yes, there was a firewood quarantine/ban. The document I am referring to postdates the 2 you refer to and they state that the prior quarantine/ban has been lifted.
The fourth item is defining the pests and what was done in 2007.
I really would like to get to find the latest document regarding this. I heard an argument years ago that the firewood ban can not stop the pests since they do not restrict commercial tree cutting/paper/mulch/pulp/etc. and in general they spread so fast. When I read the 2011 document it seems to me that is what the PA dept of Agriculture is saying. It is everywhere in PA now so we aren't going to harass our PA campers. Again, this is only in PA, you can't bring firewood into our out of any surrounding states.

Thanks for fixing it Joe......I read it.
Yes it is dated after the 2011 document I found. It is giving an update on the Emerald Ash Borer and letting us know what they are doing. They are monitoring the situation and working on a managment plan to fight it through biological control.....sprays. They say that the FEDERAL ban is still in effect, you can't move wood in or out of the state. It does not mention a state ban so therefore you can move wood within the state.
