What do you recommend for camp chairs? It seems with everything made in China these days inevitably everything is designed to be replaced. Every year or so I replace one or two chairs. They blow-out at the top of the back where the vertical pole hold the top of the back. Maybe I need to learn to heavy duty stitch these and prep them before the blow-out.
We have chairs from Cabella's that have been holding up great, and they're probably five or six years old. We have another pair that we bought on sale at Bass Pro Shops that have needed some stitching reinforcement, and those aren't used as often because they're just not as comfortable as the Cabella's.
Along with reinforcing the chairs we have two camp stools that I restitched, thanks to cheap materials. It doesn't take long to stitch them and sure beats constantly replacing them!

Found this website, have not yet ordered anything from it. Looks to have higher weight ratings than anything I've seen so far.
I just tried out all the heavy duty chairs at my local walmart. I was actually pretty pleased, they had a weight limit printed nice and big on most of them, and had several choices. One thing they had that was cool that I never understood why it wasn't standard was a clip that held the chair together collapsed while out of the bag, as well as a strap going down the side, making it easy to carry around without the bag.
I ended up walking away empty handed, because they didn't have a chair with good head/neck support. After seeing Pete and Phil's awesome inflatable pillows on their chairs, now I can't settle 😛
We have that green chair on the right just above (red for me, purple for DW). I think we got them for $25 from WalMart, and we picked them because they have a 350lb weight limit, so in theory they are a little more study than normal. They've held up through three trips this season so far, with no signs of problems. They're not for lounging, but we have some other zero-gravity recliners for that.
Then again, we still have two no-name chairs I picked up for $14 at WalMart something like 15 years ago. Aside from needing to replace a rivet with a screw at some point, they've held up surprisingly well. They're totally no frills - straight back, no arm rests or drink holders, but they do the job. They're the kids' now.
