Noticed the Motor homes and 5th wheels heading north on the highways here.
Are there any 'Snowbirds' out there that have returned.  Do you have any stories to tell?
Or "when in the South; it stays in the South."
Good Luck and Happy Camping!

I know my BIL's parents are back from Fla with their Class A.  Thanksgiving and Easter are spent in transit at my BIL's sister's house in VA every year.  The only thing I heard is that their friends keep on dying or deciding to no longer drive their RV's.  They are in their 80's.  My BIL has tried to talk them into either keeping the RV in Fla or sell it and buy a condo.

Parents are back from the Fla Keys, last week.  They had a great time, but Mom hinted that this RV/driving thing could turn into a rented house and she'd be fine with it. (and the sooner the better in her mind)

Thingette....thats the same thing with my BIL's parents.  They have $100k RV that they only drive back and forth to Fla yet they could buy a condo for probably $60k in Central Fla.  They could also rent like you say, but he likes to own.

Parents do camp with us during our regular season.  But, I think Mom would like a little more room to roam (a house) vs the RV.  Dad is happy as a clam, esp. if he has a project or a place to go, but he is a rather overbearing personality at times, and my Mom would like a little more stop and smell the roses and just read a nice book and watch the birds, etc.  They've seen the good sides of living in an over 55 community-my aunt has a place in Lakeland, Fla.  Maybe some day soon.

Lakeland is a terrible place.  Snowbirds should go elsewhere.

Just kidding.  We are a couple miles east of Lakeland.
Home prices are really low right now and a condo or even a small house can be bought for a great price.
If you guys come down this way at some point, let us know.

Terry,
It was great to have you, Fran, and the rest of your family join us at the rally!  I especially love the photo of you and Fran with the rest of the crew peaking through the camper window!  It's really cute, and it made me smile!  🙂
