Well, we're back from Fall Creek Falls (TN SP) and had a great time in the beautiful mountains with the trees just peaking out of their autumn glory.  As promised, Darrell, a spurtle (spurdle) is a Scottish stirring stick used to keep oatmeal from sticking to the side and bottom of the pot. I donated one with a bag of Bob's "Award Winning" Red Mill oatmeal at last year's fall rally. Camille's door prize number was drawn, and she actually knew what a spurtle was. So now you know!  ;D

Darrell, I think you have the spurtle confused with Myrtle the Turtle.  ;D
