As the winter weather sets in, what camping related things do you plan to do?  Repairs to your current camper? Research or just dream of a new camper?  RV shows?  Plan trips? Buy new equipment?

A few of my projects are putting some gravel where I park my RV.  Last winter I didn't park it with the tires on the patio blocks and it was a PIA to get it out of the mud.  I also have some wood trim I want to glue.  My big project is the fabric ceiling is coming down like any old car and I am getting that old foam stuff all over the place now....I need to do something about that but I don't know what yet.

I'll probably go to the Philly RV show in February.  I'd like to go to the Lehigh Valley RV show but something always seems to happen that weekend and I never get to go.

What are your plans this winter?

picked up a older honda generator for 50 bucks, needs the three year old gas drained out of it, and hopfully a minor carb cleaning,  with alittle luck should have her up and running by spring for those drydock  camping trips up the lake

We go camping.  ;D
Going next week for Thanksgiving and will be going for New Years as well.
We'll go a few more times as this is the best time of year to camp in central Florida.

It wasn't winter yet, but we were in Destin last week where it sure felt like winter, especially with the low 30s at night. However, it was a lot colder up in NW Georgia, so we enjoyed the sunshine (finally coming out on the weekend) and left just before the rain blew in.

I'm really hoping our "landlord" where we store our camper doesn't sell his motor home and get a TT before winter ends. I'm going to be looking for an indoor shelter for the TrailManor as a backup although he has said we could park outdoors under his MH cover if he can get the hoped-for TT in his huge garage. I don't think I would pay the rent we're paying just to park outdoors. He's had mice out there that got into his MH a few times doing quite some damage!

At home, I will be getting all our camping and rally supplies onto a 5-shelf unit to get everything organized -- and labeled.

As long as the trailer isn't buried behind snow plow mounds, we hope to camp over New Year, MLK wknd, & Presidents' wknd. Last year, we managed to do the first 2, so this year we are hoping to do all 3.

Attend a few RV shows, visit camping friends, make reservations for next year and dream about camping.

Im trying to not do "anything" camping related this winter -- it makes the off seem easier to deal with, without constantly wishing you were camping somewhere.

OH wait a minute. I work at an RV dealership. I guess Im playing with RVs everyday.  Well so much for that idea.  8)

Yak, I'm working on the thread for the January MLK trip to French Creek.  I have also reached out to the R-Pods again, waiting to hear back from them.

Vagov, if you are not wanting to commute much from UCF (Orlando) to the CG, I would love for you and your family to visit Stephen Foster Folk Culture Center during December for their Christmas lights and Santa's village of craftsmen/women. We have been there twice (once in Dec. 2010 to pick up our TrailManor close by) and once in the summer with micbur and friends. Check out the museums and carillon tower (which plays Christmas music during their Festival of Lights throughout December. SFFCC SP is located in Lake City, so it would be on the way down I-75 toward Orlando/Kissimmee if you are on that Interstate.

There are a few state parks near there.
We are camping right now but I will try to find d what is close to there later today when I get home.
I think my nephew will be attending UCF starting next semester.

Hubby will be working massive mandatory OT till Fall - my main camping-related activity is hoping that he'll be able to join us for at least a couple of trips!

We stayed at Weikiwa a few years ago in April.  Be careful of the mosquitoes that can literally bite through a chair, jeans and underwear at the same time.  75 times.  Otherwise we loved the place and will be back at some point.

Looking at various CGs in the Southeast to plan reservations, installing an electric management system (DH's Christmas present), and just heard our son is giving us an 800 watt portable Generac generator for the TrailManor. Now where to put it?
