Camping or not. I wish all a great memorial day weekend! And thank you to all the veterans who made this weekend possible!!!
We camped last weekend and it was hot.
Mid to upper 90's during the day. Nice at night though.
I could work for pop up gizmos. I probably sold 2 sets to a couple people that asked. Lol
I also told them about this site.
Headed out today for another 3 nights of camping.
The weather should be much nicer as we will be by the coast.
FINALLY got my pup back from PECO. March 12th - May 26.
Went up to Low Gap Creek Campground "just a few miles from Helen" for a couple of days.
This was my first Forest Service Campground experience. All went well.
Low Gap Creek is everything a Forest Service Campground ought to be. The drive up is very scenic through the forest along the babbling brook then climbing up.
The drive back down to Helen is less enjoyable, in fact every trip along the 2.7 miles of rough unpaved road is less and less enjoyable. True it's only a few miles, but that first leg is a bear. Low Gap Creek flunks my "restaurant nearby" criteria.
Next trip to Helen I think I'll pay the exorbitant price at Unicoi SP, not so much for the showers, power, water and power but for the paved access road.
