If you could take any celebrity camping, who would it be and why?  Would you go someplace specific?

I'd take Billy Crystal, we would drink again the campfire and tell some great stories.

Good one.......I think I'd take Owen Wilson.  He seems like he could easily hang out around the campfire and talk about nothing and everything.  Also I think he could give me "quiet time" for a nap or not talk.  I also like Vince Vaugn but he seems like he would never shut up.

Matt O 2006 Skyline Nomad 27' travel trailer.  Previously owned 1986 Coleman Columbia / 1992 Coleman Senecca / 1989 Born Free Class C RV.

I would take Morgan Freeman to read ghost stories around the campfire.

John Wayne ! I would like to just sit and fish with him!  We wouldn't need to talk.

Not quite the celebrity but I would take John Muir on a camping trip, just to say "Thanks for saving these woods for me"

Celebrity wise, I would take Samuel Jackson camping, picture his character from Pulp fiction asking the loud drunks 2 sites over to quiet down....  ;D

Well I would take Kirk Cameron. He is a Christian man just as I am. I have no desire to drink, but listening to Kirk talk about some of the Christian films he has made could keep me interested for hours.

I suppose I would like to take his costar Ray Comfort also. Ray is the "preacher" and is real good.

I know the Christian aspect doesnt really make a lot of friends these days, but just remember "YOU ASKED" I felt abliged to answer.

Si Robertson from Duck Dynasty,  although I imagine he would get on my nerves after awhile. I would have said Faith Hill but why torture myself.

Very well said! The "celebrity" I'd like to take camping is my father. Unfortunately he's been gone for 34 years.

Well I can certainly understand your desire to take Dad. My Dad has been dead for 8 years. I guess I mostly envy you guys for having a Dad worth "taking" camping.  I do have a stepdad, and we all go camping all the time so I guess taking him would not be such a special occasion (though I always completely enjoy it).

My Dad "however" is not the guy you want around you (or should I say around your children). Nuff said there-he was never convicted I guess that is good.  I did make ammends with him before he died. I am glad about that. It was kinda nice to know he recieved Jesus finally. I did forgive him and he died knowing that, but as a Human-I guess I just cant completely forget. As a Christian I do try, but it is so very hard.

I guess I took this post to literal when it originally stated "what CELEBRITY" would you take. I dont recall it saying "what HERO"  Trust me a celebrity is just someone who happens to be "known" (by face only) by almost everyone. A celebrity is usually not anybodys "HERO".
Sorry for the missunderstanding here.

I'd take Honey Boo Boo's family deep into the woods for a camping trip.

And then leave them there!    :2funny:

Now there's a subject for a thread. " What celebrity would like to take camping and leave behind deep in the woods".

I think I would take Ralph Stanley.  Probably the oldest living Bluegrass legend around.  He could tell some great stories, and then maybe we could pick a little music.

This is a tough one, as they are celebrities to me but not to some and there are two.  One is my Grandfather who has been gone since I was 16, and the second it Jesus Christ.  I would really like to sit with both of them.
