It looks like to work situation will be changing soon and I will have some flexibility to work from home or a campsite in my case.  I don't know much about wifi, just turn my laptop on and it work.  What do I need or might work best for campground access?  We stay at different places and not just one campground.  Thanks in advance for any help.

All you need to get is a WiFi plug in card for your laptop. Set it up on your laptop as per the instructions that come with it. Get the access code from the campground when you check in and away you go. Be advised that these connections are usually slow due to the number of people using them.

The campground needs to offer wi-fi.

A neighbor at Palo Duro Canyon had a satellite receiver for his wife's internet. I could get his wi-fi signal but it was password protected and he didn't know the password!
While there, I could not get cell signal occasionally for my iPad, but only when the clouds were just right.

You can get a plug in internet thing from Clear wireless or your wireless carrier.  It plugs into your computer and gives you and only you internet. I used my friends when they moved a meeting and I needed internet inside a school gym.  It worked out perfectly.  I think it's about $50 a month.

I wouldn't depend on a campground's wireless internet.  Unless they have something amplifying the signal, it usually doesn't reach far, plus it's definitely not very secure.

Lots of people at my school use Clear wireless  http://internet.clear.com/clear-internet-plans.html

Many cel carriers will allow you to "tether" the laptop and phone for an additional charge, and you can also get cellular wifi hotspots or turn a cel phone into a hotspot depending on which device you have.
You may want to contact some carriers or check out their coverage maps, my AT&T phone won't work where we camp so I bought a $25 Verizon phone at Wally World, it got me a half mile closer but still fails at the campground.

I forgot to mention that some campgrounds that offer Wifi require that you go to the main building/rec room to be able to use it as they do not put out a strong enough signal to reach throughout the campground.

Our CG has Tengo and it costs daily and sucks daily, I send Campers to McD's for free wifi and to grab a coffee, water or juice and they do offer healthier choices to eat? Most have TV's and if not we have a Trolley for 50 cents. Otherwise we have a Library in walking distance for free internet. I must say Most have the wireless air cards available at Radio Shack or go thru their cell phones. I personally turn off everything on the way/before camping, no phones,computers,electronics.... 8)

I subscribe to the RV Dr. newsletter and just got this link tonight. I don't know anything about them and as they are not available in Canada I haven't done any research on them.

In Canada - there is the Roger Rocket Stick and Rogers Rocket Mobile Hotspot are vary similar to what you listed.  Other Canadian companies may have similar offerings.

US companies can't enter the Canadian space unless the fulfill the Canadian Ownership Requirement and on top of that partner up or purchase expensive air wave rights across the country. (Much the same going south too)

Buying a out of country plan - can be costly and complicated.  OR using a cellular plan out of the country of orgin can rack up a lot in roaming charges. A family up her went from Canada to the US and the "kids" used there Mobile Stick on there PC and racked up $1200 for data charges for a "few downloads and a movie".  They thought it was using the local hotel Wi-Fi.

Even getting CLOSE to an international border even cause my phone to warn me about Roaming charges!  So be careful of "Cellular based" internet as the charges could easily be more than you expect if you go out of there area.
