when we were at the allentown rv show i filled out a form for 15 days free camping. Of course it is one of these things that if you go and they give you a tour, i guess like a time share thing?? come hear the speech thing.
Has anybody ever done one of these? It was for a Gettysburg Campground.
Just curious. sorry this is rambling

It's probably for Gettysburg RV Resort. It's legit, sort of, but you have to usually sit through a membership lecture and they usually don't have the dates you want, and I don't think weekends. I think I have heard of one person that got to use it.

Best Regards,
Norm

A quote from Gettysburg Resort to me one day over the phone, " we do allow some pop ups". Took a year to get them to stop calling me.

Prior posts are correct, it is a timeshare and you have to sit through a 1 hour tour and 1 hour lecture.  The timeshare is $13-$14K plus annual fees of around $240 and they only own 4-5 campgrounds.  The additional days of camping are ONLY good from Sunday-Thursday and they will continue to try selling their membership during those stays.

I spoke to them about having a group rally there last year and they wanted to hold a credit card for each site and anyone who didn't sit through the timeshare talk would get charged $50 per night plus tax for their stay.  NO THANKS!

And its not even that nice of a campground, for $50 a night or more retail price, you'd think all the sites would be level and wide, and that the roads would be paved, and a gorgeous pool and restroom.  It was just average with stone dust driveways and parking pads,  Which were adequate, but not completely level.  We were there to check out what our 30 free nights of camping from Good Sam and Grumbines trailers would be all about when we bought the hybrid last year.  We lucked out and there wAS no sales rep available when we got there for our appointment and we got a free chicken sandwich lunch out of it for each one of us.  We've never been back and probably won't either.  I thought that the campground at Promised land was so much nicer.
