Original Topic:
We were originally talking about Lackawanna SP and now we have changed to Frances Slocum SP.
(Lackawanna has limited size camping loops and the large loop doesn't allow pets. They are changing that but not in time for this trip)
We are thinking about having a group rally at Frances Slocum State Park in the end of July. Great wooded campground sites with a beautiful lake for kayaking and fishing, a beach, swimming pool, mountain biking and hiking trails and much more.
Peter and I would be interested. Since that is only 20 minutes away from our seasonal site, rather than bring up the pup we might just come on down for the events and get togethers and go back to our seasonal site to sleep.
The happiest people don't have the best of everything, they just make the best of everything that they have! |
Our season site is just 20 miles to the north of Lackawanna, so we won't be staying on site. We will come down on Saturday afternoon/evening for Potluck and Bonfire, then go back to our seasonal site in Gibson to sleep.
That gives us the advantage of a full outdoor kitchen to prep food with.

Ok, I spoke to the park manager again this morning and they have submitted to the state to change the Carpenter loop at Lackawanna SP to a pet loop but it won't be approved in time. He isn't comfortable making that decision on their own.
How about Frances Slocum State Park? There are over 30 electric sites available in the Stony Point Loop with a dozen as pet sites.
Hiking -Mountain Biking - Picnicking - Swimming - Boating - Fishing - Hunting - Education - Sledding - Ice Fishing - Ice Skating
There will not be ice skating available this weekend.

Don't book yet, I'm trying to know if there is interest to camp here?
