Has anyone been to Killens Pond SP in DE?  In 6 years of camping I haven't been to DE yet.  It is only 2 hours away from me and I think It's about time to put it on my list for next year.

So, any pictures, videos, comments, reviews, statments, concerns, likes, dislikes, etc on this campground?

Yep, Matt, we've been there a couple of times. We prefer the C loop, I believe. The loops actually have a center treed island & the sites are on the outside of the loop. Sites are roomy, but close together. Some offer more privacy than others due to the curve of the circle. The loop might appear small or tight to maneuver, depending on how crowded it is, but I haven't seen anyone truly struggle, although we've only been there at Easter so crowds were not an issue. The sites have electric and WATER hookups. And in case you didn't know, DE state park campgrounds are alcohol friendly, except for Lums Pond. So, at Killens, there is no need for red cups 🙂

There's a very nice trail that circles the pond (looks more like a lake), a nature center, and plenty of geocaches.

Sounds good. I saw the small circle of sites and was wondering what the center was. So the pond is a decent size, nice. I also like the nature center. I'd love to take Nathan there. I will have to check the hours for when I go

I am dreaming of where I can fit this trip in next year.....I'm thinking June sometime.  Anyone want to join me?

I'm camping on my Mother's birthday, so I suppose it would only be fair to camp on Father's day too.  😉

Invite your Dad camping with us....or to visit.  I'm sure we'll do something to note the day.

I would be game for Fathers Day. Its an hour and a half away from me, so this would be the closest rally, not that driving bothers me at all. The weekend before is the Pocono Race so this will work out perfect.

Okay! We're on C5. Definitely 2 of us & the dog. Possibly 4, if the young men in the house aren't working that wknd.

Does anyone know if some sites are better than others for a tent?

Cindy, most of them are pretty much similar; packed sand, flat, & shaded.

I just booked C6.  Cindy, when you go to reserve a site if you go to the map view if you click on the site # it will show you pictures of the sites.  I think they all looked the same in this loop honestly....I had to double check where the table or fire ring was to make sure the picture changed.  They all looked nice and level hardpacked dirt.

I think this is going to be one of my more anticipated trips this coming year.  Don't get me wrong, I love going to the other trips we have planned but I like doing new things.  I have never been there, it looks nice, good recomendations, and it's scheduled to snow this weekend so I am dreaming of camping 🙂
