A theme for the pot luck sounds like a good idea.  We should talk with someone who likes to cook and might have some good ideas  :chef:

One of these pot lucks I'd like to do an ethnic night.  This might not be the trip, but I think it would be cool to see what people bring.

A theme for the potluck? My theme usually is, bring food, share, socialize, & eat. Coming up with a theme is out of my realm of creativity, 😉 but if anyone comes up with one, great, I'll certainly join in.

An ethnic theme sounds like an easy one.  Italian, French, Indian, Greek, Asian... any preferences?  OR, something like a Soup Super.  My church does Soup Supers on Wednesdays during Lent.  It's amazing how you can have 6 people bring chicken soup and have 6 distinctly different chicken soups.

Originally I was thinking everyone could bring an ethnic dish from their ethnicity or one that they like, not necessarily all Italian food......but I can see that being fun as well.

If we do 1 ethnicity, how about French?  I could see French Fries, French Onion Soup,  French Dressing on a salad. French Cut Green Beans, Chicken CordonBleu.....I'm outta French Food ideas, anyone have anymore?

Anyone have any thoughts about an Ethnic night?  Everyone OK with a French night?  Other than ordering Chinese food I don't know much about Asian food  😛

I also like the soup idea....how about we keep that in mind for the spring opener when it is colder out.  My church also does soup and hot dogs once a month which is awesome  :chef:.  That is where I got the idea for my Buffalo Chicken Pasta at Pinch Pond which started out as a soup.

Well, not all of those things are "technically" French, but I'm fine with a French Night!!    Of course you forgot the most important thing from France - FRENCH WINE! Especially Champagne!    How about food cooked by a chef who is trained in French technique?  If we go with French, I'll bring Coq au Vin. I made it a couple years ago, and it was a huge hit.  I'll gladly make it again.  :chef:

Yeah I knew I was stretching the French idea a little with my suggestions  ::)

Any other thoughts on a French night?

Don't worry about setting up after dark.....we'll bring our chairs over and give you much unsolicited advice.

Wow, lucky you! I have done more dark arrivals than I care to remember. But don't be concerned. It's mid-June. There should be quite a bit of evening daylight still lingering.

Just an fyi, the sites are flat, packed sand. If you don't usually carry a broom or dustpan & brush, you might want to bring one along.
In case you're curious, here are some photos of our last trip in Loop C. You can see some of the sites, as well as the proximity of the other loops.

Sounds like stabilizer pads may also be in order?

I just found a crock pot recipe for Chicken Cordon Bleu.  Yummmm  :chef:  I'll try it out on my co-workers first and let you know what they think of it.

If you get a taste test thumbs up :goodstuff: on that Chicken Cordon Bleu, I would love the recipe. We use the Crock Pot a lot when camping.

So, I'm not a real planner, but what are we doing for the potluck? As for a French night, it doesn't seem to be taking off. Crepes, quiche, mousse, baguettes, croissants, cheese, beef bourguignon?  How about hot dogs with French's mustard? 😉
Any other ideas?

In my book Hot Dogs with French's mustard counts for "French" night pot luck.
