I was just checking out the Killens Pond website. It looks like the pool/waterpark is open 10-7 on Saturday and Sunday. Friday they are open 11-7. It is $4 per person on the weekday and $5 per person for the weekend. I don't know if Friday is considered the weekday or weekend.

There doesn't seem like a lot working out with the French theme so I'd like to consider doing a Low Country Boil similar to our friends down south who clearly know how to get it done. We can split the ingredients between 7 sites and the other 3 can bring desserts?

busdriverwc75 and I will come up with menu items and members attending can pick ingredients for the potluck. We will bring pots, burners, propane, etc. If anyone is allergic to shellfish, let me know and we can have one pot without shrimp.
I'm game for the Low Country Boil. I'll bring my Chicken Cordon Bleu to another Pot Luck.
FYI, I was reading the website for information and the Pool mentioned the $5 fee is on top of the park entrance fee. I have heard horror stories about people camping that were charged entrance fee's on top of the camping fee. I called the park and confirmed that as campers, WE DO NOT HAVE TO PAY THE PARK ENTRANCE FEE. When we register we will be given a car tag that allows us to travel throughout the park, in and out, without having to pay this fee.

Too funny....I seen this coming when you asked the question about the picture.....................I have been thinking about that pic too.....so much so that I may have to have my own low country boil here this weekend lol.
Now...what about Blackwater......a pineapple and a pigs head in that boil makes it qualify for a Luau?

So what are the ingredients that we will use and how much? Anyone live close to a farm stand to get some good fresh corn?
Is there anyone allergic to shellfish? My son is allergic to Peanut Butter, he is fine for fish (although he probably won't eat it.....more on Dad's plate)

The easiest way to do the low country boil , for potato purposes ,is the Mellissa Bay Dutch Yellow (or Red) potatoes. The are nice and small, a single bite full and cook very fast. Just about every produce department carries them.

I told Nathan that Tommy's brother hurt his foot and couldn't come. He said he hopes he gets better and then said "But Tommy is still coming right?" We'll see you guys at the next rally.

After talking with the moderators for the rally, it might be easier if one person brings all the ingredients for the low country southern boil and we all split the cost. I will pick up everything (shrimp, kielbasa, potatoes, corn, onions, lemon, beer and seasonings) The cost will be able $15 per site with the 9 sites we have booked.
We will need 4 tables, a few tongs, and 2-3 pots with burners.
We can also use a few desserts if anyone is interested.
We can pick up a few bundles of firewood local.
Phil and Pete will bring a burner and pot, as well as the normal coffee stuff for everyone.
Joe, Bring your grey Bus boxes and we will bring some also. It makes it much easier to "spread" the boil on the table as it can sit in the bus boxes - cleaner and easier.
Highly suggest a few rolls of paper towels as this is all hands on finger food.
