During the March and November group rallies, we have a cord of firewood delivered (very large warm campfires)  and also book a gathering site for group campfires, coffee in the morning and the potluck dinner on Saturday at 6pm.  We normally try to split the cost by taking donates.

firewood = $185
group site = $94
misc expenses = $10 (coffee, handouts, name tags, etc)
total $289 divided by 15 sites = $19 per site

thanks in advance, it will be a great weekend and start to the season

We're going to bring a Chicken Pasta Alfredo type casserole.  Will there be an outlet to plug in a crockpot?
Thanks

Chicken Alfredo pasta sounds awesome!!!

Yes there will be plugs for the crock pots.  We get an electric site for the gathering site for that purpose (along with some rope lights and the coffee pot)  Joe has a few large power strips that we plug into the 30 amp outlet with adapters and we have even run cords from the neighboring sites so we don't have 20 crock pots plugged into 1 outlet.

We are bringing a dessert.  Why can't the snow happen tomorrow instead of when we have to drive home?  :thumbdown:

Lone Lock's nephew (who is 11, not 10 🙂 is bringing chicken and rice pilaf.  It's his favorite - he's excited to share!

I was starting to regret booking this year, but every other year there is a chance of snow and I have to work. Lo and behold after all this great weather the last couple weeks, here comes some snow. Have safe drives home on Sunday and hopefully the weather people got it wrong.

Best Regards,
Norm

Joe arranged for the firewood.  Don't know the details.  As for snow.....I'm staying until Monday anyway so the roads will be clear when I go home.  I threw a sled in,the truck for some fun.

I stayed Sunday night with my son as well.  I have to say it was very serene being there with just him.  There were 3 other campers in the loop that I never saw.  My son and I were sitting around the same campfire ring that the night before had 30+ people laughing and talking around.  As I moved around the campfire/gathering site I kept thinking of a conversation I had in that exact spot with someone or a story I overheard in another spot.  it was very happy for me.  I am glad/proud/happy to be friends with all of you and to camp with you.

My son has grown up camping with this group of people.  Some are new, some are old.  It has always been a great group of people.
