We are planning a camping weekend that has the option of train ride and/or bike ride.

It is awesome a fun time just camping, a great potluck dinner and group campfire.

Chiefbowes and I are going. Has anyone camped here before? I always have trouble picking a site when I've never been to a campground before.

We will also be riding the train then biking back to Jim Thorpe on Sunday.

Would anyone be riding on Saturday?  We wouldn’t be able to ride Sunday due to traveling home.

I got us 2 tickets.  Don Laine put us in N1.  For those who have ridden this before, how long does it take?  Trying to figure out what to do with Sadie.  Bring her, since we have a little trailer for her, or try to find someone to keep her here at home for the weekend.

If we don't bring bikes can we just do the train ride round trip and is there anything to see along the way or not worth doing the train if your not going to bike back.

Joe are you biking back or just taking the train ride ?

Yes, there is a round trip ride. The view will be the gorge and trees and wildlife, I believe. Jim Thorpe is a cool place to wander around, shop, eat, etc.

We have two tickets to ride the train up and bike back.  It is 25 miles, slight grade downhill the whole way.

Ladyhawk - My guess is that it takes 30 minutes for the train ride and about 3-4 hours to bike back.

Vik-king - Marc rode last year and DW and DD took the train up and back.  It's a nice ride.
