Phil - I am so loving you!!  As many of you know I've been on the wagon, trying to loose weight, I have had a few cocktails the past week but am still watching.  However, I do believe that this camping trip with the mystery dinner must involved alcoholic beverages!!  So Phil I am soooo in for un-winding this night and having a blast!!  Woohoo!!  And Joe honey no kids this weekend!!

Just remember Joy, there are no calories on vacation while standing up..... and clear drinks have less calories that dark drinks (can we say Martini!) :victory:

She will be a lush since she's been very healthy for the last 7 weeks.

So, has anyone hiked these trails before?  We would like to check out the change in the leaves but we need to be able to push a jogging stroller with a 2 year old (OK, he won't be 2 for another 2 weeks).  We should be able to handle a moderate trail but would prefer an easy trail.  We can't scale any boulders or handle any deep washouts or stairs with the stroller.  I am thinking of the Frances Slocum trail, the Lake Shore trail, or the campground trial.

We stayed at Slocum a couple of years ago and did a little bit of hiking (that, unfortunately, is about my limit) and drove around some other parts of the park. The part of the campground trail we were on had some moderate elevation changes and rocks. Some parts of that park have a lot of rocks/boulders left over from glacial action. We drove through the section where the Frances Slocum trail is located and that appeared to also have a lot of rocks. Also some decent elevation changes, if I remember correctly.

I think you'll probably be OK on most parts of those trails -- the Slocum trail isn't that long anyway -- but you'll probably get a pretty decent workout!

John, thanks for the info.  I can handle slight elevation changes.  The stroller has brakes  :turtle: .  Basically I am thinking we will probably wind up hiking a trail until we find an impassable obstacle.  Hopefully we will get a little bit of a hike in before we come accross a boulder left over from the ice age.

I've never had a martini before, i don't like olives.  I think I will stick with beer.

Got home from French Creek this afternoon.  Did a few things to get ready for Frances Slocum.

*Changed the door handle to one with a key so DW feels more secure  ::)
*Changed the thermostat for a digital one....Thanks for the info Phil
*Put a full tank of Propane on the tongue.

Now I just need to charge the battery after a weekend of dry camping and I want to insulate my bunks with foam of some sort.

Just for kicks, I was searching youtube for video's on Frances Slocum SP to see if there were any of the campground.  This past weekend I thought someone mentioned that nobody had been there before.  I found this video which shows sites 46 and 45.  The video is taken from site 43.

Not sure what time I'll be pulling in on Friday but it'll be early enough for at least a little campfire.

Marc, I didn't know you were coming.

DW and I plan on getting there around 3-4ish.  Depending on how far the fire ring is away from our camper we can have a fire at our site.  DS is 2 and will probably be going to bed around 8ish with DW. :-X

If DW thinks it will be too loud I have a big tote full of wood that I can drag to someone else's site.

So what are the numbers going to be for this weekend?  It will be Me, Lori, and Nathan with our dog Basil.

Peter and I are still up in the air - I have a possibility that I might have to travel for a trade show, but won't get the word until Thursday evening....

It looks like I will be solo this weekend, Kate and Cora will be going to a birthday party.  I'll leave work around three, not sure how long it will take to make the trip but hope to be set up before dark.

Potluck Request/guideline- Please identify if your food has peanuts in any of its ingredients.  My Son is Allergic to Peanuts.

I am not asking for you to change what you are cooking....Lord knows I love my wifes Peanut Butter cake (haven't had it in 2 years :'( )  I just need  to know if there are peanuts in it so Lori and I won't feed it to Nathan.

Since the original idea for dinner was Pasta, Pistols, and Passion, Lori and I will bring some Pasta and Meatballs.
