A buddy had asked if we could camp local for a weekend before his wife is due to deliver in October and he's not allowed out anymore, so we have booked Sept 30 - Oct 02 at French Creek SP, Loop B.  A few others have booked so we are making it a Meat and Potatoes Rally for the Guys.

As always, everyone is invited.  A few are planning to fishing, maybe mountain bike, most will sit around a coffee pot in the morning or campfire throughout the day trying to :banghead: understand :tickedoff: women. :lmao:

Rather then everyone bringing food for one person, we will probably split some meals. (Doesn't need to be meat and potatoes)  :chef:  Maybe 2 people take care of breakfast, 2 lunch and 2-3 dinner.  Suggestions welcome?

mmm...... I might come solo to that one..... With finishing up closing our seasonal site in the mountains and the upcoming Knoebels trip, Peter is sort of camped out... but not me.

Lori and I are booked for the Fall Foliage Rally 2 weeks later.  She isn't big on being away from home anywhere more than once a month.  Maybe I can sneak out on my own for just Saturday night and join in the discussion of trying to understand women. :banghead: She says I have a thick head.

Just for kicks, I wanted to see what sites were available.  I figured if DW let me out to play I'd book a site last minute and probably have to take a non electric site.  There are 10 sites left and only 1 of them is non electric.  How often do you see that?

The group is currently booked in sites 5,7 and 9.  Site 1 has a path to 5 and 48.
Site 1 and 48 are both in the same camping area.

The non electric sites across the road are very large and backed to the woods.

DH only is planning to attend this one. I am arranging for  several violin players to be there and will send a case of Kleenex. You may need them while you are having your pity party over how your significant others treat you.

So you evidently haven't noticed all the personalities going on in Pete's head. :idiot2:

Phil - all I know is he makes one hell of a meal - so for that reason alone I think I'd just sit across the table from him shake my head in a loving way as I'm shoveling down my dinner - say how much I understand, blah blah blah and then ask what's for dessert?

That's when you trot out the universal, any relationship, any gender, line "yes dear"  ::)

Booked B16 (One of the last with Electric).

Looks like it will be just me - Pete needs a break and is camped out a bit.

I was cleaning out my shed this weekend and got into a corner I haven't been into in awhile.  I found a blanket chest from my Dad full of scrap wood.  "It's all good stuff, you never know when you need a piece to fix a 3 legged chair or a dresser missing a drawer....."  Thanks for the firewood Dad.  It went right into the back of the van to go with me camping.

If we empty the chest and somebody wants it at the end of the weekend, you are welcome to it.  Otherwise it's going to the curb when I get home.  The wood is scrap, the chest looks semi decent if you just want a sturdy chest to kick around your garage or basement.

So what is the story with food?  Are we going to try to do a group thing, pot luck, ?????

Since this is the Meat and Potatoes Rally, why not have everyone kick in $5-$10 or just split the bill and then we just grill up some steaks and potatoes at 1 main site for dinner and beer.

Steaks is a great idea, but I don't want to saddle someone with the intial cost of laying the cash out for everyone first.

JR's wife just delivered their baby this week and I doubt he will be making next weekend.
I'm trying to come up with a way to split meals.  I'm willing to do surf and turf on Saturday.

Menu:
Friday

    [li]Dinner[/li]

Saturday

    [li]Breakfast[/li]
    [li]Lunch[/li]
    [li]Dinner[/li]

Sunday

    [li]Breakfast[/li]
