I'm in, haven't been on the ice for a few years but would love to get back out there.  Looks like the ice is good already.

I passed some guys on the ice this morning on the way to my kayak club meeting, sure looked nice out there.  Can't wait for the weekend and keep thinking nice weather....nice weather...no snow....no snow.  I'd really hate to have to stay back to go into work and miss this trip.

Good thing you didn't take your campers.  The campground is closed for the winter, or did you get the state to open it?  I also did not know that they had electric hookups at Ricketts Glen.

We had some personal things that postponed our trip for two weeks but we did get a few hours of ice fishing local today, French Creek SP.

Does this give new meaning to Fresh Fish on ice, like at the grocery store.

Definitely a great outing!!  We had all the winter weather covered- Snow, rain, ice, cold, and some nice sun Sunday morning on the ice.  If the water stays frozen for a bit I'll try to get out at least one more time this winter. I'll see if I can get some more pictures off of the camera and posted.

Great ice fishing pics! Have not been involved in that sport for many, many a  year. Use to have a dear friend up in Michigan (he and his wife have passed on some time ago), and he was a great fly fisherman and we had mutual friends is how we got to be buddies. We did one of those fly ins into Canada that was a real blast. Anyway, they had a place on Michigan's Houghton Lake and every winter they would have a thing called "Tip-up Town" and everybody would gather there out on the ice ... fishing shanties, canvas wind breaks or just sitting out in the open. And everybody just drove their cars & pick-ups out on the ice! The big catch everyone was after was walleye. Boy, what a great eating fish!
Sure reminds me of those days!
