I graduated from college about a mile and a half from that.  I've taken that exit many a time.  Man, I'm hating the road rash and damage on the 'yak.  :'(

I have to drive across Atlanta on 285 every day.  I have seen everything from a riding lawnmower to a toilet in the road.  A couple years ago, someone cut in front of me and reduced my following distance (everyday occurrence).  I eased back and the car in front swerved.  I looked up to see a huge piece of steel in front of me and I had nowhere to go but straight over it.  Chunks of my tire started flying around and it got a little hard to steer.  You have not lived until you change a tire on the shoulder of 285.

DH early one morning on I-75 in Cartersville near exit 103, I believe, ran over a truck tire in the center lane, destroying the radiator and other stuff and then flying out the passenger side taking with it the side mirror and continuing on into the woods off to right. He called me to come get him and was not hurt, thank goodness, and insurance covered all this damage with no problem but balked when the block cracked on the way to the repair shop from being repainted elsewhere. No one had put anti-freeze in the new engine! Insurance quibbled on whose fault it was starting with DH down to the repair shop. My nice Nationwide agent finally said enough is enough after a month waiting for the car and we got it back the next day -- no cost to us except the deductible. Oh, right. The car was only 8 months old and it was about $8,000 for all the repairs just from one tire!

Boy, ain't THAT the truth?!?!  On the inside lane!  Up against the concrete barrier wall!  With NO clearance between you and everybody driving 80 MPH!!!  Oh, the memories.

I was driving along I-4 near Orlando one night.
There was a dark area of highway so I must have been just east or west of O-town??

Anyway, a pickup truck was in front of me about 100 feet or so and a large piece of furniture fell out of the back of the truck and began sliding along the highway.  Whatever it was, it was metal because sparks were going everywhere.  This thing was the size of an entertainment center.
I narrowly missed it and there was nothing I could do as I couldn't stop since there was traffic coming up behind me (plus I had one of my kids with me at the time), so I kept driving, following the truck.
I saw cars headlights swerving left and right in my mirror.  I'm sure it was hit shortly after.
Truck exited after a couple miles and just kept driving on another highway.
I had called Police who were supposedly en route, but I had to get gas and lost them.

No idea if this relates to the original picture or video since I can't see it on the iPad.  ;D
