I saw an add in the good Sam magazine for a shower curtain rod that bows out from the tub to give you more elbow room. Similar to what you can get at Home Depot for your house

I don't know if this is any thing you want but this is what I did with our curtain.

I removed the shower faucet and used an old cutting board as a spacer. I put holes through both the cutting board and shower curtain and remounted the faucet. Now the faucet is inside the shower curtain.
