Whats up everyone! We just acquired a popup in late august for our growing family. We used to tag along with my parents and their (our) large extended group of campers, but their 5er could no longer comfortably hold all of us as we just had twins in addition to our 2 year old. I have been camping since before I could walk, but this whole scene is relatively new to my city-fied wife. She claims she "isnt a camper" but I think she really does like it. She cant help to notice how much our toddler loves the whole experience!
We will do most of our camping with the group up in PA, but i cant wait to take the family on our first excursion to a chesapeake bay camp...(any suggestions?)
I love all the breadth of info on this site! I will certainly share any ideas i have as well.
Thanks, Jim
Welcome from the Eastern Shore of Virginia. The Maryland state parks we camp at are about 4 hours from you. They are Janes Island (on the bay, beach accessible by boat, canoe or kayak) Pokomoke River State Park. (2 parks in one, on the Pokomoke River) And Assateague , If there's anything left after Sandy!
Welcome to the group, Jim & family! We are looking forward to all you have to share. Nice camper and set up.
(Aren't twins cool? We just had twin grandson born to one of our daughters 6 months ago! Of course, grandparents can go home, but we love being with them and watching their antics as they grow and develop.)
Welcome, from Catonsville! If you want a nice weekend getaway that's real close, try Greenbrier State Park, right on Rt. 40 near Hagerstown. They have a nice park and a lake, for when the kids get older. They also show family movies and have popcorn during the summer right in the campsites on B loop, but the only ones with power and water are in D Loop. We've also got the Season Opening Rally at French Creek SP in PA in March. I think there's still a few sites open. Always a good time and a great chance to meet other members. Look in the Rally Zone section.
