Hello everyone. I stumbled on this website through tapatalk mobile which I use for a few other forums and have been lurking around. Figured it was time to join and say hi.
I have been camping for over 20 years and when I met my wife 10 years ago got her into camping as well. In 2007 I bought a 1996 Coleman Sun Ridge PUP which was so much fun since it had so many amenities over tenting it. With a baby on the way my wife said she would like our own bathroom and shower in the trailer so we decided to purchase a brand new 2010 Jayco 19H HTT in the spring of 2010. I pull it with my 2008 Nissan Pathfinder SE V8 with an Air Lift kit in the rear end that I installed. We absolutely love the camper and it is so much fun with our now two year old son. We are actually heading to Lake George for a long weekend which is one of our frequented places.
We live in Orange County in Southern NY about fifty miles northwest of the city. We enjoy camping locally and up and down the east coast. My wife's father lives in Winnipeg, MB and we keep considering a long trip out there with a few stops in between. I also enjoy vintage audio repair, ATVing, fishing, and hiking. It will be great meeting all you and thank you for this great site with so many tips. Oh and I'll post a pic of the rig soon.
Hey guys...so awesome to meet locals!!! We frequent KOA Newburgh as it is only a half hour from me. Nice place very clean and friendly staff.
This weekend we are heading to Lake George RV Park with friends. We tried many CGs in LG over the years. We really like Alpine Lake in Corinth as well but it has changed since being bought up.
Does anyone have any good suggestions for southern Vermont around the green mountain region?
if you can, head up a bit further towards, newport, stowe, island pond VT and the like. some really amazing CG's up that way. but they are about 6 hours from Newburgh.
I can not remember the name of it, but there are a few really great CG along a nice river just off rt 9 between and Bennington and Brattleboro, VT ( maybe wilmington area?)
there are some State parks in Western, MA too that are nice
dont forget about the Berkshires too !

Awesome advice, thank you!
I never thought of the Berkshires. That is not too far at all for me. As much as I would love to go 6hrs away it is kind of hard right now with my two year old in the car. I have heard such good things about Stowe area though would love to make that trip. We get the KOA catalog every year and gives us all kinds of ideas.
We are also thinking Keene Lake out in PA as we have heard good things about it. Any experienced visitors?
