Hi, just wanted to introduce ourselves...
Leigh and Barb..3 kids, 1 grown and on her own, 2 boys at home..12 and 13. 1 dog and 1 cat. We live in upstate NY near the baseball hall of fame in Cooperstown.
We have a 2010 jayco 1207 pup. Bought it new and loving it. This year we hare looking for a hybrid camper. We camp at the local jellystone about 15 minutes from our house. Our fav campground is Belden hill campground in Harpursville NY, about 45 minutes from us. They have special campsites just for pups.We don't go very far because when we camp, we camp. We don't go site seeing, we don't do the tourist stuff, we fish, hike, eat and rest. We live in a rural area so camping is just like home only with a lake. We camp about 8 times a season between May and October. We do 2 long trips a season and mostly weekends. We camp alot in our yard which we set up way down back like a campground..fire pit and elec. hookup. So that us.
Welcome to CanvasCampers, there is a group of us going to Niagara Falls over the summer if you are looking for a great trip. Only about 4 1/2 hours from you.

welcome to Canvas Campers! ;D
one thing, you're going to need a bigger tow vehicle to tow a full-height Hybrid TT. a Caravan isn't going work well with all the weight you'll have in the van.
the only minivan capable of doing that well, was the Astro/Safari.
with a 4.3 Vortec v-6 and a body on frame chassis and being rear wheel drive, made it capable of all the right things needed for a good tow vehicle.
check out RVDirect, which has dealerships in N.Y.
they sell the Roo hybrids and the Jayco hybrids and have some of the best prices in the country.
Welcome to canvas campers, There are plenty of good folks here with lots of good advice. We had a pup for 12 years and just went to a hybrid ( haven't even taken the maiden voige yet due to midwest winters ) I'll bet you'll make plenty of memories in your new pup and have great times with it. When the time comes to change rigs You'll know it. Until then enjoy all of the fun times you are about to have.
