Our week-long summer group rally this year is at Little Pine State Park. There are over 10 miles of hiking trails, a sandy beach swimming area, a 60-acre lake for kayaking and fishing, a practice shooting range, wildlife watching, campfires and memories.

This park is 4 miles from the 62 mile Pine Creek Rail Trail. Both Pine Creek and Little Pine Creek are tube and kayak friendly.

Chiefbowes and I are on site 88.

If you have a larger unit and are taking a pet site, please contact me. I have a list of sites that are not suitable for Taj Mahals (Gwen, my parents, anyone else with lots of slides).

What sites do you recommend for a 33ft trailer with drivers side slide outs, no pets, with shade?

We decided to book site 87 (it looked longer than some of the others, and we do not need a pet site). If this one is not recommended based on experience (Gary), we can always switch.

2A, 2T with the new 34' TT.

What about a 4 mile tube float on the Pine Creek?  Maybe a 10 mile Kayak float?  Or possibly a 25 ride on the rails to trails? All of these activities are available in both longer and shorter distances. Food for thought.

We booked #70 Wed - Sun.  We may adjust those dates as it gets closer to that timeframe.

Chief Bowes, we'd be interested in any and all of the activities mentioned

Joe Camper & Camping Phil - the link for the CG map leads to Lackawanna's CG.

This is at the headwaters but give you some idea of whats available. http://www.pinecrk.com/

For the stargazers Cherry Springs State Park is about an hour away. it is the darkest place east of the Mississippi.

Want to see part of the gorge and not walk or bike? http://www.olecoveredwagon.com/  horse drawn wagon.

Maybe a Horse ride?  http://www.pavisnet.com/ttr/

Sounds cool.  My kind of trip, bring the canoe, flintlock rifle and summer time blasting.   How is the fishing in the 60 acre impoundment?

Fishing the lake can be pretty good.  It's below the delayed harvest area on little pine and always held some nice trout.  I've caught everything from chain pickerel through rock bass in the lake. A lot of people fish the outflow of the dam just off of the campground and do very well.

There are still some good sites available for any one interested. This is only 3.5 hours from West Chester.
