My '93 Destiny Royale is missing the in-board supports beneath the queen or front bed. The previous owner doesn't have them and though I've downloaded and printed out both the "Owner's Manual" and "Parts Manual" I can see what they look like and where they attach but but I don't know the dimensions. Anyone have any thoughts?
Also I'm looking to add an awning by taking a strip of metal the length of the "C" channel and attached to it either a tarp or some other type of material impervious to water. At the far corners I'd attach a 4' section of 3/8" conduit that fits into a 5' section of 1/2" conduit. The two slide together and have holes and pins for adjusting the height of the awning. When finished the legs slide into themselves and are rolled up into the tarp. But does anyone have an idea of how I can secure it to the roof line?
Thanks,
Doc
For the supports I would ask someone for the length. If not, just lift the bunk end until it is square, and then measure the distance to the support brackets. I would measure anyway even if someone gives you the length. You can also try looking for someone parting out a pup to get the bunk supports and maybe even the awning.
I have seen people make awnings before but IMHO it would be easier to just buy a 10x10 EZ up or knock off. You can get one on sale for about $60-$75 usually. How much time, effort, and money are you going to put into creating the awning?
Good luck and post pics of what you wind up doing.

According to what I saw on the E-Bay link you have to already have an awning before the room can be added. Everyone on another site seems to want me to go ahead and spend the $100 or so for an actual awning but I priced the hardware I think I'll use...conduit, pins etc all for less than $10. My problem is finding the right material for the top. I was going to use a blue or silver HD tarp but most people say they'll be more trouble and that the blue tarps do little to keep the sun out; which I believe. The silver are better at keeping the sun from baking you as it reflects the light and heat but I have to wonder. The folks at Lowe's thought of a painter's canvas drop cloth but the package says it's "washable" which means though paint won't penetrate but obviously water will and the one reason for doing this is to keep us dry in that pop-up rainstorm.
Oh and I do have a 3/8 inch "C" channel that I plan on running a piece of metal attached to the canopy through form one end to the other end. I was thinking I could unscrew the channel from the roof and run wide strips of Velcro every few feet to secure the canopy when it's all folded and rolled up.
Thanks for giving me hope.

I was able to buy a very nice piece of awning at a trailer service business. The piece was actually an old awning that had some damage and was replaced by insurance. I paid $40 and had a humongous piece of heavy vinyl (like those cool banners are made of) awning. It even had the edge that slides into the c-channel already there! And it had a second piece of that cording toward the awning edge where it would have slip into the support frame. Nice stuff! Cut real easy with scissors. Able to sew on my sewing machine with heavy thread and large needle. You see, I made a rear side awning for over the kitchen area.
