After tent camping several years on the ground and with the inflatable mattress is always springing leaks within the first year of use, our first pup was a 2000 Coleman Cheyenne. We used it in the first season very well. One night, the wife and I woke up, she could not make it to the bath house in time for a pottie break. I pulled out the porta-pottie out of the cabinet. After she used it, I sat there to use as well. I turned around and looked. Glad to see the grandkids still sleeping! I decided right then that a built in bathroom was needed asap! We bought a used 2008 Fleetwood Niagara the following year. The previous owner stated they used it 4-5 camping trips total. They was selling due to going to the dark side. It even smelled new after being 3 years old at the time. We have not regretted getting a larger unit with a built in bathroom/shower!
This unit has a built in oven, microwave, fold away grill on outside wall, lots more storage area. It is little more heavier than the other model, built it still feels the same while towing. I have added some mods, like shelfing on the bunk ends, one over the kitchen area, led lights in front storage and on entry step, diamond plate boxes for propane and battery box. Soon I will be replacing tail lights with sealed LED lights from Bargman and replace electric cable hatch with a lockable door unit. I am ready to go camping again when the weather warms up some!  :baseballhat:

DW and I purchased our Jayco X17Z HTT this past June. Before that we owned a 2008 Fleetwood Utah CP. While we loved the Utah, we believe it was made either on a Friday before a long weekend or a Tuesday morning after a 3 day weekend. The Fleetwood had all kinds of stupid little issues that crept up at the most inopportune times. For instance, the water tube under the slide decided to start leaking in the middle of Custer State Park -- about 1 hour drive from the nearest town with an RV store. That was just one of a long list of items -- missing bolts, forgotten bunk end pole, loose slide, etc. The last straw was when we discovered the cracked roof on our Wolf Perserve Rally in May.

After repairing the roof with Eternabond, we traded her in (with full disclosure to the Jayco dealer) for our new X17Z Hybrid. As soon as we bought the Jayco, the next day we left on a 1 week long trip up to Vermont and really enjoyed the comfort and convenience of having a hard side HTT. We also enjoyed our new Jayco on our long trip out to Colorado and Utah this past fall.

Overall, the X17Z is very comfortable without being too comfortable that we want to stay indoors all the time. We are very happy with our Jayco and we cannot wait until next camping season!

Truthfully I guess I didnt buy mine at all. Although, I did pay a fortune for it. OK not a real furtune, but it did cost me a couple V8 engines and several labor hours.

I had a 94 Trans Am. Car was given to me without an engine. I purchased a "supposedelly" good engine and installed it. Only to have it blow up 5000 miles later.  I bought another one from a machine shop. Installed it, blew up 3000 miles later. When I tried to contact him-he was out of business with no forwarding address and no known phone #.  Listed it For Sale-good roller-as is. The owner of a local RV dealer contacted me. He was interested in a T/A roller and I was interested in this particular PUP he had on the lot.  We traded. Im pumped still. So is he. He bought a newer style GM crate engine/transmission. Modified the car to work. And the car runs like a wildebeast now.  I dont miss the car though.

I bought my 1992 Jayco for my 7 and 9 yr. old kids. They both love being outdoors and love camping. I paid $1100 plus a new canvas plus some repairs too, so I guess maybe $2000 or so total invested. BUT here's the catch , The said she would only go if the camper had a shower. So , after pounding the pavement and finding one I could afford that had what SHE wanted , I have the family pup !!!

Ours' was in our price-range and the right weight. It is solid, good canvas, and has a Goshen lift.  🙂  The bed slides were bent and related hardware worn-out...but I managed with standard hardware store parts (except for the odd-size shoulder screws) to get them more user friendly!  8)

We bought ours because of the floorplan and the very misleading, and in some cases, outright dishonest brochure. We love the trailer floorplan!

Sight unseen? Uh oh...
Been there, done that. Don't do it!

Check with Old_Geezer and Stormtrooper. They're HTT/TT experts.

My little headache 😉

Welcome Betsy, I just looked up the 21SS, I must say it's a very nice looking camper. When we bought our Surveyor 234T last year we did the same thing, though, we did actually see ours in person first. It was a 2011, prior year model, got a great deal and we are loving every bit of it.
