Lowe's and Home Depot also give Veteran's discount of 10%.  Just show current ID, or Veterans Medical card. My dad knows of lots of places, feel free to pick his brain at the rally.

I did forget Lowe's and Home Depot.  Lowe's has never had a problem coughing up their discount.  I cannot say the same thing for Home Despot.  It has ranged from "Thank you for your service" to "Let me call the store manager while I check on this."  I avoid them like the plague.

Update to the above.  I had to go to Home Despot for something yesterday that Lowe's didn't carry.  After asking for my discount the cashier waxed elegantly about how they always give the vets a discount.  Guess what?  NO DISCOUNT!

That's the exact opposite of what I've experienced. At HD the cashier can enter authorization and I've never had a problem. At Lowes it's always a delay as they have to get the manager to do the authorization. Also At Lowes, in Springfield MA, a couple weeks ago I had an employee tell me Lowes was changing their policy to active duty military only.  When I contacted their customer service online they stated they still honor retirees along with active duty.

If you're in SoCal, Knotts Berry Farm allows a Veteran and a spouse in for free the whole week of Veterans Day.
