I work for myself and me and my boss goes around and around about this kind of behavior all the time. One time things got so heated that I FIRED myself right on the spot, no questions asked! While I sat under a shade tree waiting on myself to apologize I realized nothing was getting accomplished, so I swallowed my pride and told myself I was sorry and I would never raise my voice and yell at myself like that ever again. I told my self that was very unprofessional of me and said I was sorry. Since then things have been going much better.
Very fortunate for the job I have. It is all pretty much via email. When I get here in the morning it usually takes about an hour or so to get through all the new emails and then I am just here for the rest of the day in case a customer should need something or if they want to submit a new order. If I did my job well in that first hour or so I have a lot of down time so I can use the internet or whatever.

Never. I have been with my employer 35 years in July. We are convinced the HR has IT spies that are constantly scanning the network. Not worth it. I can play when I get home.
I guess with me being one of those "IT spies" (IT systems/network guy), I can conclusively say that they're not doing it at my current company ... or my previous one, or the one before that. Not to say it doesn't happen, but it's probably more the exception than the rule.
Most of the companies I've worked for have had "we know you do it and we're OK with that as long as you keep it reasonable" type of policies.
