Less then one month prior to our group camping rally at Niagara Falls...  Nik Wallenda will attempt to cross the mighty Niagara on Friday, June 15, 2012 at 10pm.  This once in a lifetime event will be viewed by thousands, as the daredevil will be 180 feet above the water walking over the falls, holding nothing but a 30-foot pole across his waist.

Always amazed at the equal levels of skill and insanity displayed by tightrope walkers, especially the Wallenda family! Me, I have trouble walking on a curb, six inches off the ground ...  ;D

Supposedly the first man to make it over Niagara falls and live later died from slipping on an orange peel.  If Mr. Wallenda  follows suite, a paper cut will likely kill him.

My boss is there this week for vaca in the Marriot with rooms overlooking the falls.  THey are scheduled to come home Friday.  When inquiring about rooms to stay another night, they were told $600 a night, but all have been booked already.  They are currently watching them set up the wire he will walk on.  Maybe they will get to see some trial runs (with safety line...)

He walked the falls across the falls like it was nothing.  Even with the wind and mist generated by the falls.
