Just finished shoveling out from the latest that mother nature had to dish out to the Garden State. 1/2" of ice on top of 6 inches of snow. Oh my aching back.

It is actually getting tough to see the camper with all the snow piled around it once we cleared the roof. The snow comes right up to the awning bag and the front fork is completely covered.

More good news - another winter "event", i.e. snow/sleet/freezing rain, is on the way for Saturday into Sunday...and the weather man has another one on the long range for next Tuesday...this has got to be the longest winter in a long, long time.

Thank God the groundhog DIDN"T see his shadow - I don't think I can handle another 6 weeks of winter!

We can't wait for the warm weather and camping season. Who else out there is suffering from cabin fever? and missing camping??

I too am ready for spring, I just got home form salting parking lots.  It seems like I've been doing it everyday for 2 months.  I salt & plow and I HATE winter :dunno:.  I really need to move south.  I've been on a job hunt so maybe I'll get lucky.

MTN,

Where in Jersey are you? For a bit of lifted spirits you might consider the Rockland RV show at Rockland Community College, just inside NY at the end of the GSP.
Thurs -Sun 2-17 thru the 20th.

Just a thought, DW are going, I hear you with this season, the older we get the more I dislike winter.

kids will keep you young though.

We aren't getting it as bad as you east coasters, but this has definetely been a long winter. WE are covered up in ice right now. Salted the drive and the ice just formed a layer on top of it. Hopefully I can dig it out today after work.

One good thing is the snowboarding has been good this year!  O0

Down in Paulsboro NJ (Next to Philadelphia), we set the record in the southern NJ for this last 2 storms, 18 inches last week and 7 more this week, then the sleet and ice. When my back starts hurting the local teenagers get richer...

You keep believing that, cause I think you'll be shoveling a lot more than 6 weeks of this...... 😮

I spent six hours shoveling that ice/sleet snow mess yesterday.  I was able to use the blower on initial 3"s Tuesday, but woke to the oh so familiar glacial ice covering everything.  Roof of house has foot ontop of 6" solid ice.  Not good!!!!!!!!!!!

It just needs to be cold. Precipitation is not needed for skiing. The resort will make their own.  ;D

I live in the heart of the Pokes with ski areas in every directions, outdoor/indoor water parks, a full blown casino, Delaware Water Gap Natural Rec Area, and 3 state parks:  Tobyhanna, Promised Land, and Hickory Run.

Lou - I gotta believe the groundhog won't lie, or I'd be going nuts right about now  :). I just hope another storm doesn't blow in the weekend of the Springfield RV show. Joe and I are really looking forward to the post-show drinking or Margaritas

We're getting another 6 inches on Sat and another big storm on Tue.....
With all of the roof collapses up here, it's unbelievable. The only thing that will probably be worse is when it all starts to melt.....
You've got  that 4wd Honda, so I don't want to hear any excuses about not being able to make the RRI Rally..... 😮
I'm not cutting you any slack Dawn. 😉

Lou - you never cut me slack  😉  I'm really looking forward to the RV show, just to get out of the house for the weekend, see everyone, look at campers...it doesn't get any better in the winter unless you live somewhere warm and are still camping.

BTW - the weatherman is calling for another 4-6 on Saturday, and TBD precipation next Tuesday... :'( :'( :'(

I feel totally obsessed with wanting to go camping that I'm on a camping forum!

Spring is right around the corner.

The weather is not as bad here as it is in the northern states. I can drive to Florida in 4 hours.

Plus, I work from home, so I'm use to being home ALL THE TIME!
