I'm thinking about a Block BBQ that my wife and I are trying to have this Saturday. We moved onto the block in January 2012 and still haven't met everyone....but we wave to them all. So we figured a BBQ would be good. We only did our block, 16 houses. We have only gotten 2 RSVP's back so far (Wed deadline) and we're trying to figure out how and when to buy food and stuff.

I'm thinking about going to DD's with a big platter of grilled veggies and BBQ ribs and a key lime pie if I can do it fast enough (easy!). She's making grilled chicken.
Easy dinner since we just got back from the foot doctor and DH is having surgery mid-August. I just cancelled our camping reservations for Breaks Interstate Park 🙁 but it's for a good reason!

Judy, I'm hoping for a quick and pain-free recovery for Al. (And you) See you soon at the Fall Rally!
Well, Al's surgery has been scheduled for Aug. 16, so we should have him able to stand when needed. If not, I've already borrowed a walker from Ben & Diane, our friends who have been to a couple of our rallies. He should be in good shape by then, we hope. 🙂
Thanks to all who are sending good wishes for his surgery. It is much appreciated.

Lonelock,
We moved into our neighborhood in Chester County 7 years ago, still have never even got a wave out of 3 neighbors that have property attached to us! Some are friendly in the neighborhood , but others are hermits!
I am happy for this awesome summer weekend. Once the weather cleared up on Sat we had our BBQ outside and it was a nice temp. Warm, but not hot. We met 6 houses worth of neighbors. It was really funny 'cause it seemed that unless they were next to each other, they didn't know them. Then today it was again perfect weather. My son had his friend come over for a playdate and they went swimming and I just sat enjoying the day and the weather.

Sitting here looking & groaning at the calendar for the next 3 weeks which is almost monopolized by varsity soccer (conditioning, tryouts, practice, PT sessions) & wondering will I miss this next yr when he is away at college?
Becky, I caulked clearance lights yesterday, too. It was a beautiful day for it.
I am wondering how we can get some more people to sign up for our Southeast Fall Rally next month at beautiful McKinney campground on scenic Lake Alatoona. There are still some spots open and we will have fun activities for all :clappingani:, calorie laden food :P, and an incredible assortment of door prizes. I was thinking about that, so it really wasn't hijacking the thread. 😀
