I have a 3 1/2 year old and he has been out of diapers for the past 6 months.  He has not had any accidents recently, but he has peed in a few odd places.  It got me thinking......how many odd places has your child peed when they said "I gotta go :crazydance: "

-My wife had the privilege of going on the side of the road with my son.  She had a dilemma because how far do you walk away from the van -vs- everyone knows what he is doing.  I told her to just have him "check the tire pressure in the front tire".....I've always heard that as code for Peeing on the side of the road.

-After the side of the road incident for my wife I picked up an old thermos water cooler to leave in my wife's van for these occasions.  I told my son what it was for and for the first week afterwards he wanted to pee in it every time he got in the van.  ::)

-I have an RV.  On the way to a campground we heard it.  What do we do, just pull over to the shoulder and use the potty in the back.  Love those ones, they are easy.

-We were swimming in our pool this season for the first time on Saturday.  We told him you don't pee in the pool.  He climbed out onto the deck surrounding the pool to get a toy we thought and before we knew it, it wasn't just pool water on the deck......at least he got out of the pool.  "Son, Good job for not peeing in the pool, but next time you need to go tell mommy or daddy and we'll go inside"

-He has peed on just about every tree and bush in the yard.

-We were in the drive thru for a pharmacy....we all know how slow those are.... and I heard "I gotta pee, I gotta pee now!!!".  I had already asked for my order and the guy was looking for it, where am I going to go, what am I going to do ?  Luckily I had gone to Chic-fil-a that afternoon and had an empty cup with lid in my truck.  Dump the ice, undo his buckle and say aim good.  He did.  Afterwards he said "don't drink that, its not lemonade"  :hah:

-Mowing the lawn tonight I look over and I saw him with his pants down in the middle of my neighbors driveway   Luckily the neighbors weren't home and I stopped him.  I told him to go on a tree.  Funny thing, he had already peed in the backyard on a tree.

-Years ago I was with my sister's family in Pittsburgh and we were in a park.  My niece was 3ish and had to go but the bathrooms were locked.  Just as my sister was going to take her behind a bush a cop pulled up  :ranger:  We explain what's going on and ask if he has a key to the bathrooms.  He says no but get in.  He'll bring them to the hotel just outside the park.  My sister and niece get in the cop car, lights go on and off they go.  My BIL and I now have to go find this hotel.  It turns out to be some fancy hotel that had a sign that said "no public toilet" or something like that.  My sis said the cop dropped them off at the bell stand and said to the guy "let them use the bathroom".

I can't be the only one with odd potty training / Peeing stories.  Lets hear yours. :2funny:

We were at the top of the Boca Raton (FL) Intracoastal Bridge for the Christmas Boat Parade and no facilities in sight when DS (probably around 5 yrs. old then) had to pee and never said a word to us until I noticed what he was doing. The Intracoastal got a sprinkling before the boats went by and everyone was happy. The crowd of mostly adults was so thick and everyone looking into the distance for the parade to come by, no one noticed! :baseballhat:

Our son learned, at about that age, To get out of the pool and pee on one of our, many, citrus trees we had in the back yard at the time. Never a problem and we had no 'P' in our 'ool  ;D

Tommy was potty trained by one of Bar's friends husband who showed him how to pee on a tree in the back yard. The first problem was getting him to actually use the potty and the second was when I has to stop him from squatting off the back porch!  As for pools, once at a hotel in Northern VA. Tommy got out of the pool and walked over to the whirlpool, dropped his suit and pee'd into it. The hotel people weren't too happy. Now at 16 we just need to teach him how to flush!

Since I have girls, I got something like this without the bag and keep it in the back on all trips. I just put it on the side of the road and they water the grass. The girls have peed on the side of the PA Turnpike, 95 in SC, Outer Banks on 12 plus some I am probably missing.

Love the bridge and the hot tub story.

I have to admit there have been a few times where I see he is starting to water the tree but I look the other way  ::) until he is committed to the deed so I don't have to find a bathroom.

The only big one that I remember is when Noah (probably 3.5 or 4.5 at the time) decided to drop trou and pee in the middle of the back yard.  That wouldn't have been too much of an issue if it wasn't during Wil's outdoor birthday party.
