Open the area where the water heater is. 99% of the connections to the top and bottom are a plastic nut that pulls a silicone washer flat against the copper fitting from the pex side of the lines.
Unscrew it gently, pull it all the way off, then HAND TIGHTEN only it back on. I have to do that to mine every few years (had too this year).
