Hello everyone, thanks for taking the time to read this.
My fiance and I are looking to wade into the waters of camping as adults. We both grew up in the lifestyle and would love to do it again. We are just getting started and are saving for a wedding next year, so budget is a concern. I'd like to find something used, in the neighborhood of $5000, with a slideout and a toilet. Shower isn't neccessary but from what I understand, you usually get both.
Is that price reasonable for something nice with those features? I have my name in the hands of a salesman at a large RV dealership near me, but no calls yet.
We're in the Canton, Ohio area.
Thanks in advance for any light you can shed!

Thanks for the reply! I'm hopeful but it does appear that the dealers charge quite a bit more. I do like that they inspect everything though and will show you how to use the stuff. They also have a nice service department (for updates, hitch installation, etc), so I can bundle all that in.
Tow rating is something like 2500lbs.
At this point, I'm even okay with a casette toilet. I just want something for that "pouring down rain, late night, emergency" LOL
You should be able to find a pup with a 5 grand budget no problem, a average 2000,ish year era in good shape is well doable for around the 3-5 range. Craigslist would be a better option over a dealer though, and keep in mind if you wait until after summer you will get your best bang for your buck as the season closes here in the North east, with only 2500 , you limit yourself alittle though, when you get into slides , and fuller 12ft box frames such as the utahs, they tend to get heavier, a smaller 10 ft box such as a sante fe may be better equipted for your towing needs. Good luck , and welcome from western PA
Congrats on your camper!!!
Please be careful with your towing. I am not an expert by all means, I leave that to the hubby. But from experience, we had a 2004 fleetwood utah. Tried pulling with a minivan. I highly do not recommend. We almost blew the tranny. Nada says the camper weighs 2600. You then need to add in gear etc. You are already over your 2500 tow limit. Please be careful. Welcome to the forum!
