MathewinGA, was your solution the 3 1/2" REI matress ? I've been following along and have them tagged as a favorite now. I'm strongly considering throwing our memory foam over to the other bunk for DD and/or DS and getting 2 of the 29 x 78 mattresses as they would be perfect for our 60 x 80 bunk.
The memory foam works fine when we first crawl into bed but I often wake up to find my pressure points, hips, or shoulders have bottomed out to the hard surface.

Maybe we could have a memory foam Bon fire together. What my FIL bought was very expensive  but he is only like 140 Lbs with a snow Parker and boots. Me on the other hand; I weight (250, all muscle) flatten that useless foam and egg crate out. So the 3" 1/2 adjustable has solved all our problems. DW likes the mattress softer and I enjoy a firmer mattress (same way a home). Plus since I got them from REI. There's a no hassle return/exchange. If anything goes wrong your covered. You can't beat that! Plus if you have a real problem, they give you a $25 gift card-

Anybody need some memory foam?

ha ha - don't think we'll be burning ours since it would be like throwing my check book in the fire but the REI matresses sound like they could be the ticket. The memory foam will go to the kid's side of the camper once we make the purchase. Thanks for the info

layering different density foams works for me. i have a thin layer of high density foam on the bottom, then a thicker medium density layer spray glued to that, then a much thicker normal foam spray glued on that. it works great for me. hope that helps. or look into options for semi trucks at truck supply shops

I guess it doesn't matter anymore since the PU is gone and I sold the foam for $30 at my yard sale. We can still use the REI's for our tent camping.

But it looks like I got stuck with the grill and porta potty. Nobody wanted to buy the them for a "Reasonable price."
