It's been about 2 years now since I got my "Freebie" PUP. I have put a lot of work into it and my wife and I have enjoyed it very much. That's what makes this so hard. I have recently decided to go to the "Dark Side". I happened into a deal I couldn't turn down. I am picking up a 1990 Prowler Lynx 15F on Saturday. It belongs to an 89 years young gentleman that has many happy memories using it with his now departed wife. He has put the kind of care into it's upkeep that I do with my vehicles. (has all of the records and manuals). He had a new 3-way refrigerator put in about 4 years ago ($800+) and is selling it to me with everything in it included (dishes, pots and pans etc...), a spare propane tank, towing mirrors, anti-sway hitch, and he's even throwing in the trailer brake control from his truck! All for $200!!! The only thing it needs is new tires which I ordered today. (I'll do all the usual maintenance just to be safe). This wasn't an easy decision, but since my wife is disabled (bad leg and hip) and has gotten a bit worse, it makes sense. The beds are lower so it's easier for her to get in and it has a bathroom (with shower) so no more porta-potty (which is too low for her) or long walks to the camp bathroom. We'll miss the PUP, but we'll always have the pictures and the memories. I'm in no hurry to get rid of the PUP since I have enough room to park it still, so I'm hoping to take my time and sell the PUP to someone that will appreciate it and care for it the way I...err... ahh...we all do. I'll be sure to tell them about all of the good people and information here and I'll still be lurking and throwing my 2 cents in when needed. Thanks to everyone for the great tips and information. Happy Camping!
I'll put up some pics soon. I was going to pick it up today, but I need to replace the tires first (VERY, VERY, VERY cracked sidewalls) and nobody has the right size in stock. I pulled the wheels off and then found that out so while I'm waiting (it's still at the PO's house) I repacked the wheel bearings and checked the breaks. All Good!
Well I brought the new Lynx home yesterday. I definitely noticed the extra weight while towing it (Lynx = 1990 lbs. / Jayco = 975 lbs.), but it still towed easily. Here are some pics. of it as I received it except for the new tires. Lynx Photos
I actually looked at a model simular to your lynx but passed on it for one reason. You guys can laugh at me it you want but not having an awning was the deal breaker!!! I love my awning and for the price the PO wanted (unlike your awesome deal) I just couldn't justify it. I too love my pup! I'm sure you'll love it as will your wife. Enjoy your time in it. Looking forward to pictures from your maiden voyage!!!!

You know, Steve I agree with you on the awning thing. The Lynx does have the track for a bag awning there and the PO said he never had an awning. I'll miss the one on the PUP, but as soon as I find the right one I'll get one for it.
