I just returned from a weekend at Kitsap Memorial SP meeting up with 4 other Apache owners from around the state and BC.

Kitsap was a fairly large CG but not many sites.  The hook up sites were all in the open with side-by-side parking and no privacy between sites.  The primitive sites were well appointed with water nearby and plenty of trees, shade and privacy.  There were several buddy sites available.  Our friends from BC and we chose such a site and, quite honestly, I was thankful for it.

Sites had firepits with grill grates which could probably yield a decent meal.  Firewood was available for $5.00 p/bundle.  I believe the wood was ash and it burned quickly.  Two camphosts were onsite in their MH's and were in charge of selling the wood.  There were also SP Rangers hither and yon but didn't have much interaction with the guests.  One did stop by as we were setting up our Apache to ask questions and see how it was done.

There are many cabins, a pavillion, large "meadow area", playground, and walking ramp down to the water.

Showers were pay for use with tokens at $1.00 yields 6 minutes.  Quite the rip-off if you ask me.  Toilets were unisex, single occupancy, ranging from very clean to totally trashed and out of order.

Taking the Tacoma Narrows bridge is free heading north but $7.50 for TV & single axle trailer returning south.  Gas is available nearby at a reasonable price.  A Wally-World and town of Poulsbo is less than 5 miles from the CG.

If going, I'd recommend booking the primitive sites and bringing your own grill.  I'd rate this CG at 3.5 stars out of 5.  Pay showers are an automatic one star loss to me.  If you pay to be there, as far as I'm concerned, the cost should include showering.
