The Little Buffalo campground had previously been a privately owned campground. When it went up for sale, the state bought it & added it into the state park system. We have stayed there several times shortly after the state acquired it, actually the first season.
It's a small campground, one sloping, gravel loop, one bathhouse. The novelty of this park yrs ago, was that the electric sites also had their own water hookup on site, since it had been a private campground beforehand. We always had a site on the inside of the loop & were under tree cover. Fair sized sites, not the most private I've had, but also not looking at my neighbor's food on his plate, either.
The campground is a bit of a distance from the park, so we drove to the park to hike the trails. We did not use the pool, but it looked very nice.
