Opening day for fishing season in Chester County PA is 3/30/13.  Hibernia County park has a campground with no hook ups and pit toilets for $15 per night.  They open for the season the first weekend of May, but they open for the weekend of opening day.  The sites are first come first serve, but I went for a hike there last year on opening day and there were only a handful of people camping.

I am going to take my son camping/fishing Friday night.  Easter is Sunday so my wife said I have to come home Saturday night.  So it will be a one night camping trip for me and since my son is only 3yo I will not even kid myself.....we will probably only fist for an hour.  We will probably just hang out in the campground or the playground the rest of the time.

If anyone wants to camp, or if you just want to stop by Friday evening to sit by the fire, I'll be in the Fiddlers Loop in my Born Free Class C RV.  There is another camping loop called Lake loop....which is obviously closer to the lake by a bit.  There is a pond that is kids only fishing.  That is where we will be.

HERE is a link to a video of the campgrounds I made last year.

I put the camper battery on charge, filled up the water tank and put the fishing rods in the RV.  Now I just have to get through work tomorrow (hopefully they let us out early for Easter).

Looks like I'm going to be in site 3 of Fiddlers loop.  Since it is First Come First Serve I had DW register a site.  She said there was noone there.

A week later and I got the video edited.  HERE it is.

My son and I had an awesome time.  There were 6 sites booked (3 of which were a group) in my loop of 20 sites.  The other loop had about 6 as well.  I was talking with them at the office and they said the only weekend they get full is for a fiddlers music festival in August....and even then you can still get a site the past few years.

Mariska Hargitay stopped by on Friday night to sit around the campfire and have some of my blueberry muffins/cake that I made in the Dutch Oven.  2nd time cooking and it came out much better than my garlic burnt brownies.  I gave my son glow stick eyeglasses and he LOVED them.  He put them on Saturday morning and wore them for much of the day as well.

Saturday morning it was a 35-40 minute walk to the kids fishing pond.  Without a 3 year old it would have been only 20 minutes.  They were standing very close together along the river.  Even the kids pond was pretty crowded.  We saw a few people catch fish.  We didn't.  30 minutes of fishing at the pond and my son said "can we go to the playground now?".....sure  :baseballhat:

On the way to the playground he wanted to fish in the stream.  Any place there might be a fish there was already 3 people fishing there.  So we found a nice rocky area and I didn't even put a hook on it, just a bobber.  He casted it and reeled it in for another 15 minutes.  Then we went to the playground, had lunch and went home for nap since the following day was easter.

I'll post the blueberry muffin vid later.
