Camille & I are talking about a 4 night/3 day trip in June. One day relaxing, one day shopping and one day scenic drive on the Smoky Mtn loop.
Haven't picked a date yet, have to navigate around other things.
We stayed at Creekside the last time we were there & research indicates it's still the best choice for us.

Just sorta raising the flag.
I was thinking about taking a trip up to there some time. I hear it is cool in temp then down here in southern Alabama. I would be interested to know the best places to take a family. I think its about a 6 hour drive from where I am located. Is this place you have posted a good place for families to stay also?
We went there last year for Spring Break (early April).
A couple of friends did most of the planning and we tagged along. That campground we stayed at was Cove Mountain RV Resort and I think it was a good choice. It was about smack-dab between Pigeon Forge and the mountain attractions (e.g., Cade's Cove). The views were gorgeous from our door. It's more of an RV park and has full service sites. It's not the typical parking lot, however, having huge open areas between sites in the area we were staying. There was some shade in other sections, but not over our sites. At that time of year, it didn't make much of a difference, though.
Have a good time wherever you stay.

Yes. Our 1st site was across from the swimming pool & there seemed to always be a good bunch there enjoying the pool.
When we decided to stay longer than planned, they moved us back further into the park. We met several couples that were working at the various attractions.
There's lots of rv parks to chose from - rvparkreviews - pick one with amenities, location that appeals to you. Pigeon Forge is a great place for kids.
