I have been worried about towing over weight with our 2006 Escape Hybrid so yesterday we went to the ford dealer, just to look [;)] and ended up buying a new daily driver and TV. We don't have it yet because they are going to install the hitch and towing harness. I'll still have to install the break controller but that's OK I'll tough it out.

I hear ya. We were at the most dangerous time with the 2006. It just turned 60K miles and I had just bought new tires. That seems to be when I'm the most likely to buy a new one. Someday I may learn :-[
