Just installed a dual friction sway control unit from HAUL-MASTER. The instructions state to turn on/off handle clockwise, tighten firmly (how firmly ?) until the handle is parallel with inside friction plate. How much friction am I looking for ?
It seems I can turn the on/off CW and lock the slide in place. There is a brake torsion screw that they tell you to adjust in for even more friction.
What do you think would be a good starting point ?

The sway bar will help dramatically when you are coasting.  Not as much when braking or gassing.  If you start to sway, you MUCH gas to pull out of it, braking will not stop it.

To answer your question, I tighten my sway bar up pretty much.  About 4 times around!  Drive around in a parking lot with the windows down and see if the sway bar is making noise (squeaking) or jumping?  If so, its to tight, turn it back a 1/2 crack.

Here is additional information about sway bars.
