I'd like to create a section on the site for camping basics.  If you were new to camping, that one place that would have good information to get started.  What should be included?

- Towing Info
- Camping Checklist
- ?

Is it Basic to level the pup or to have a BAL?  I feel Basic means what you need to do to get through a weekend.  In this case, you need to remember some boards to level the pup.  You don't need to spend $65 before you leave the driveway.  Don't get me wrong, a BAL is nice, but not neccessary.  Just like my zero gravity chair is nice, but as long as you have any chair, that works to start out.

Ok, so basic leveling and connecting to campground utilities.  Maybe camping etiquette?

Check out THIS item on ebay.  It is a Pop Up Camper Starter kit.  I wonder if someone put these items in a box and slapped a sticker on it or if you can find these in an RV store.

I would break down the camping checklist into categories
Inside the camper:  pots, pans, dry goods, cooking essentials, item storage
Outside the camper: leveling items, cords, lights, coolers, canopies, chairs, tarp, electrical adapters,
Inside the Tow Vehicle:   lug wrench and jacks for truck and trailer, flairs or reflectors for road side repairs, first aid kit, jumper cables, baby wipes,
Just throwing some ideas out there...Wolfie :cowboy:

I just remember being scared to death when we first took the plunge and bought a PUP...everything seemed so scary and complicated.....I wanted to know all I could about the PUP....maybe a section with books and/or websites that they might find helpful as beginners.....SCmomma

PS....I must have watched those videos of people raising their PUPs on the coleman site a zillion times.... 😀

To include with the "picking a CG/Site" (which could be two separate points), included could be picking the spot for the camper with in that site, to include; backing tips, what to look for as far as tree limbs, most effective use of the trees for shade, location of the fire ring in relation to the camper and table, ect....

I'm very excited to announce another new feature here on CanvasCampers.  We how have a Camping Basics section that can be found on the Main Menu under Resources.  You will find some basic camping and camper information for the new and experienced camper.

Questions about packing your cooler or figuring out how that 12v light works?  Is something broken and you're not sure how to fix it?  :banghead:  We've gathered it all in one location and have got you covered.

This is growing task and we need your help and suggestions.  Check it out and let us know what you think?

Joe there is a broken link for the new or used camper section.  That part of the this great forum will be very helpful.  Thanks for the time and energy you and the others put into building and maintaining a great site.

Most RV dealers have them and many will throw it into your purchase...  or you can buy it from them... I have seen ones from 3 different companies and they all have a kit to cover everything from a pup to a 5er...
