I don't have the patience but my wife and kids use these pie iron things.  Seems like a lot of work but entertains the hell out of them for a while every trip.

Does anyone else use them or have recipes?

We bought two pie irons the beginning of last season and used them a few times.
Here are some great recipes and ideas.

Thanks for the recipes Joe.  we use the pie irons on occasion.  not as messy as a smore IMO.  They really like making pizza in them.  They choose their own ingredients and cook it themselves.  It's amazing how no matter what comes out of the pie iron it always tastes great to the one who made it.  Great for the kid that won't eat.

The DW made me some kinda, grilled, pizza, sandwich, pie in one of those pie irons one time and it was pretty dern tasty. Had pepperoni, cheese, pizza sauce , mushroom, and onions all between two pieces of bread. That and a side of beer and all was good for the evening!!!

The young uns'  usually do some kind of pie filling stuff.........just too sweet for my liking.

We had 4 pie irons in the camper at one time but I've cut it down to just 2 now since its generally just me and the wife going now.

I use them for breakfast sandwiches,  hot pbj, heating up chicken tenders, or whatever.
The suprise to find it not burnt to a crisp is what entices it's use.

Wow, forgot about those. I used to have a couple, not sure what happened to them.  I remember making pizza pockets before there was such a thing and my favourite was homemade "pop-tarts" .

We've made pizza in them, but last summer we made cinnamon rolls in them as well.  Mmmm good!  We used refrigerated cinnamon rolls.  And we also used the pie iron over the camp stove when we didn't have a fire going in the morning.
