Title: Stepping Out!
Post by: MariskaHargitay on October 17, 2017, 06:30:05 PM
I've never had a problem previously, but the step in my camper is just too small, or too much of a step down or something. All I know is my back hurts by the end of the trip, and I think it's because I turn to make sure I get the step on my way out. I don't mind using lynx levelers but I don't want DBF to step too quickly and go Godzilla on the stack of lynx levelers.

It makes sense to me to go out and get the right one first. I want folding, and adjustable makes sense to me since all sites are different.

What steps have you bought that you liked? Have you bought anything that you hated?

Please speak to my parents at the next rally. They have owned several and may have a good recommendation for you. (Might have one to sell if they finally picked the one they like best).

We have used a Stromberg Carlson one for years. If I was going to buy one now, I would get a similar one, but they now have one that adjusts on each leg: https://smile.amazon.com/Stromberg-Carlson-PA-250-Aluminum-Platform/dp/B0050EEOK8/ref=sr_1_11?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1509059839&sr=1-11&keywords=rv+step
There have been a few sites over the 6 years that that one step wasn't quite enough, but that's seldom enough that it works well for short-legged me.
Before we got that step, I used a Rubbermaid stool, but that flipped too easily. I have a tallish folding step I keep in my truck (https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B009NHPZR4/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1). It works well there for me to reach into the bed or wash the windshield, but the metal one is more stable for going in and out of the camper.
