Stabilizer screw interference with frame
« on: March 19, 2013, 11:48:03 AM »
I have a 1998 Rockwood Premier 1908.  The lowering screw on the stabilizers (all 4) is incredibly close to the camper frame - makes it difficult to get the crank socket over the end.  There is no evidence that the stabilizer screw is bent; once I get the crank on there it seems fine (other than the socket rubbing against the frame.

Has anyone experienced this on their camper?
Is there a way to add a shim or something to get more clearance?

Thanks,
Anthony (Farmington, NH)

On our 2000 Coleman the stabilizers are bolted on. If yours are like that, maybe a shim under the mounting bolts would help.

Was the PUP previously owned? Just wondering of the PO replaced the stabilizers with the wrong ones... there should be ample clearance for the bolts on the right model of stabs.... other PUP owners of a similar trailer may be able to compare notes... or google that model's proper stabs.... sounds like something is not right.
