Joe and I are back from a fantastic weekend at Seven Points Campground at Raystown Lake. For those of you that haven't been here, Seven Points is an Army Corps of Engineers campground located on the lake. Last year a local group built over 34 miles of mountain bike trails in the park that are fantastic for all levels of mountain biking.

I was surprised that we were able to reserve a site about 4 weeks before the holiday weekend. Although I never would have chosen a site on the "inner loop", it wasn't bad for a last minute trip. We camped there with another couple, also in a PU, and managed to get 3 nice long bike rides in.

Great rides, great weather, nice site, and good company both on and off trail  ;D.

For those of you looking for a place to ride the trails or do some fishing/boating, definately check it out. For us it was a 4 hour trip, that is worth it, we're already planning 2 trips there next season.

My wife and I were there for Dirtfest this year with some MTN biking friends.  We camped in the meadows loop in a tent.  We'll actually be headed back there the second weekend of October to do some more riding and stay in our NTU Dutchmen 1205 Duck!  I can' wait...I didn't get to ride last time because I was keeping at eye on our son who is 6 and not yet up to riding real mountain bike trails.  He did, however, do a 6 mile ride with my wife 2 weeks ago on the Weissport Canal.  Anyway, it's a nice place to camp.

Jason - we were there for the Grand Opening of the Allegrippis Trail System last May. Since the opening, we've been back 2 more times because the riding and camping is really nice.  If you are looking for another good mountain bike location - - try White Clay Creek in Delaware. No camping there, you have to stay at Lums Pond SP (which only has 6 electric sites), but the riding is fantastic.

Mtn Bikers,
Thanks for the heads up on the riding in Delaware.  My wife has friends who ride down there, but we've never been.  We live right up by Jim Thorpe in the Poconos, so we ride close to home a lot.  Have you ever ridden the broad mountain or strip mines in Jim Thorpe?  If you're ever in the area, let me know.  It would be cool to meet up and do some riding.

Jason - - Thanks for the invite, it's always good to hit the trails with the locals.  Joe used to go to JT riding before they decided to "close" many of the trails to mountain biking, I've only been there twice riding when I first started biking. I don't remember the names of the trails that we were on, just remember it wasn't American Standard  🙂

We're heading to Lackawanna in a few weeks (for the Rally) - - decent riding, there are still some campsites left  ;D

Another place to check out is Kingdom Trails in Vermont. We're doing a camp/bike there next year, probably over 4th of July, if you're interested in going.

BTW - our home trail system is Allamuchy (exit 19 off I-80) if you are ever in the area and want a tour.
