What do you use for string lights, lantern or other camp site lights?  Any pictures and what do you like or what would you change?  I'm looking for a new theme and new ideas.

I used tiki string lights for about 8 years and changed to LED rope lights about a year ago.  The tiki ones make a lot of noise in the wind and 1/3 of the bulbs were blown out.

I have parrots, martini glasses, and Mickey heads that we use in a rotation. Not very bright and are perfect for night time use to see outside.

Best Regards,
Norm

Most of our outdoor living is around the C/G picnic table ... cooking, eating, dishes - and for serious lightning when doing these activities use a Coleman dual mantel gas lantern.  But after the evening chores are done, and maybe some sitting by the campfire, the gas lantern is too bright.  So the change is over to a old timey kerosene lantern.  Provides just enough light to see around the campsite and not too bright for the neighbors.  Also a great night light, too.

Kill 2 birds with one stone, instead of kerosene, use Citronella Lamp Oil.

We are more like "Flyfisherman" when it comes to camping.  No amenities, so we use ground torches to light up the area around the campsite.  These ground torches are great, they have a long burn time and don't light up the sky.  At the camper we use, Snow Peak LED Lanterns, these are totally adjustable and have a long battery life.

We also have a LED 12 Volt Camp Locator.  This LED Whip is mounted on top of an extendable antenna mast about 15ft. in the air.  This remote controlled beacon, can be used when arriving back to the campsite after dark.  As you know, when in the forest, after dark, its real dark and if your hiking back or driving back after dark or that middle of the night bathroom run. All you need to do is press the remote and the beacon turns on (Fading in and out in different colors of light). It works great, you can see the beacon from a good distance glowing in the air.

We have several strings of owl lights (like Joecamper's tikis but with owls) and a string of rope lights under the awning. We also have a string of rope lights that go around the interior of the WallyWorld EZup.

Just purchase flip flop strings  at the Christmas Shoppes.  4.99 a string, flip flops are in different colors.  Trial run will be in June as this weekend is a no hookup kinda thing.

I have a string of black christmas lights (aka haloween lights ) Really not with the camping theme but they put off just enough light to guide me to the steps of the camper. I like them because they are not bright enough to attact bugs.

Solar yard lights.  I use them to mark guy lines, boundries and hazards.
